Holy Trinity, MarcrossFor times of Sunday Services and local news click in the photograph above. Holy Trinity Church is another
example of a 12th century building, with a number of
distinctive Norman elements still to be seen, including
the large font, south doorway, and chancel arch. The now non-existent rood screen was entered via an elevated doorway in the chancel, an unusual feature of churches of this age. There is also a 'leper window' in the south side of the chancel. The church was restored a hundred years ago, the work including a new roof, pulpit, altar and rails. The whole building retains traces of the whitewash that once covered Vale churches in former centuries and is a Grade 1 listed building. A full description of this church can be found in the book 'Medieval Churches of the Vale of Glamorgan' by Geoffrey Orrin, published by D. Brown.
